Buying at Auction

Buying at auction is a great alternative to shopping at big box stores or combing consignment shops. At J. Levine you can sit back and relax while we show you our amazing antiques and collectibles from art to classic cars to jewelry to firearms and everything in between!
With the Auctions are an efficient way to buy almost anything! Popular auction items include antiques, fine art, automobiles, furniture, vintage items, antique dolls, coins, stamps, jewelry, books, toys, firearms, and collections of all kinds. J. Levine Auction & Appraisal often liquidates the contents of businesses as well, including equipment, furniture, and when appropriate, archives and records.

With an average of more than 50 online and live auctions each year, J. Levine Auction attracts buyers with a wide range of interests and collections.

Bidders can register in person, online or over the phone to bid on items in the current auction. The buyer’s premium is 15% for in-person bids and 20% for online and phone bidders. Absentee bids can also be submitted. If you would like to see an item prior to the auction we hold previews at our gallery and have a 3D walk through online.

How it works…

When you arrive check in at the front desk to register for a bidding number. You will be asked to provide your name, address, phone number, and identification. After registration you will receive a paddle and be eligible to bid. Don’t be nervous, just flash your paddle when you wish to bid!
At auction, items are sold “as is – where is.” So, make sure you take a look at the items in our gallery before the auction, or if you can’t make it in check out our 3D walk through
Bidding at auctions can be intimidating, but once you get the hang of it it’s lots of fun! No need to glue your hands to your side, the auctioneer knows when you’re bidding and when you’re scratching your nose. Also, don’t wait too long if you want an item – auctions move fast, get your bid in early so the auctioneer has the bid before the item is sold.
When you are ready to leave the auction return to the front desk. Complete payment is required the day of the auction in cash, check, or card. With your receipt you are allowed to load the items you’ve purchased. All items should be removed the day of auction unless prior arrangements have been made. If shipping is needed, we will help you with arrangements.
Online bidders will register here You will be asked to provide your name, email, address, phone number and card information. Don’t worry, registration is completely free! Once you’re registered you can bid on items by entering a max bid.
