Selling at Auction
It is the goal of J. Levine Auction & Appraisal to bring high quality Auctions to our clientele. We are creating these special events to focus on specific items in an auction category. Be it fine art, jewelry, luxury handbags or other sought after items, we strive to have the finest quality in each of the Auctions. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will help guide the consignor or the buyer through the entire auction process.
We provide the skill of many experts and consultants on antiques, fine art, jewelry, and collectibles. We also have many years of experience in promoting our auctions and our consignors’ merchandise. We have been praised for our ethics and creativity and have a vast knowledge of the marketplace and current value of all the items we sell.
The first step in the process of consigning with J. Levine is to contact our appraisal representatives . After leaving your information, a consignment specialist will contact you to learn more about your items and conduct research. The representative will follow up afterwards to set up an in-person appointment time. Items can be brought into our gallery or we can come to you! After, they will provide you with a pre-auction estimate.
If you decide to consign we will agree on stipulations and sign a contract. Then you will be asked to arrange shipment, delivery or pick-up of your items or if it is an entire estate a specific plan may be created.
Once your items are in our possession, they will be fully insured for an agreed amount prior to pickup. After receipt of your consigned goods, we will have them tagged and inventoried. This process ensures the proper documentation and tracking of your treasures. Prior to the auction, your items will be stored in our secure storage area and gallery.
Our team of experts representing every different category of antiques and collectibles will provide descriptions and estimates for your auction consignments. When it comes to highly specialized niche categories, we enlist the services of noted authorities whom we consider to have the best knowledge and reputation within their given field in order to ensure accurate and trustworthy descriptions. Our team of onsite catalogers and photographers will then produce professionally designed online catalogs and media for showcasing and advertising your consignments.
We will tailor a marketing and advertising plan to assure maximum consumer participation and worldwide exposure for your consignments. This will include email, print and social media campaigns to our entire database. Including targeting popular antique and auctions magazines, local and national newspapers and other influential media outlets. J. Levine’s will also promote your consignments through jlevines.com, invaluable.com, auctionzip.com, invaluable.com and estatesales.net, estatesales.org and any other specialized sites as needed.
Your consignments will be on display for at least a week prior to the sale date. This allows regular customers and potential buyers to preview the items in a no pressure atmosphere. While on display, your items will be protected by full-time camera surveillance and handled by qualified J. Levine representatives.
Collectors who cannot attend the auction can preview the items online and on our 3D walk through tour of the gallery which is updated monthly. They can also bid on items conveniently from anywhere in the world via telephone, online or absentee bidding.
J. Levine Auction & Appraisal prides itself in prompt payment to its consignors and full payment will be made within 30 business days from the date of the sale.
